Minoxidil was discovered accidentally in the 1950s while researchers were studying a drug for ulcers. They noticed that patients were growing hair as an unexpected side effect, and eventually the compound became the foundation of every mainstream hair loss product on the market.
Minoxidil is genuinely helpful. We use it in our topical formulas. But minoxidil on its own has never actually solved hair loss, and there's a simple reason why.
Minoxidil is a vasodilator. It works by increasing blood flow. What it doesn't do is address what's *causing* the restriction of blood flow in the first place. Imagine a garden hose with a kink in it, and you respond by turning the faucet up harder. Yes, you'll get a little more water through. But you haven't fixed the kink. That's minoxidil without ARB.
There's also a common myth that if you start using minoxidil and then stop, your hair will end up worse than before you started. That's not true. It's the same logic as saying that if you go to the gym and then stop going, you'll end up weaker than you were originally. What actually happens is that you gradually return to the baseline you would have been at without the treatment, your underlying condition. You're never worse off for having used minoxidil in the first place.
Minoxidil is a great tool. But it has to be part of a system that also addresses the root cause, which is exactly why we combine it with ARB and the rest of our formula.
