Adegen started with me trying to solve my own hair loss problem. I tried every formula I could find. I traveled to South Korea (widely considered the cosmetic capital of the world), and then to Germany, meeting with doctors and dermatologists in search of something that actually worked. Along the way I met a doctor who had developed ARB: a specific composition of fatty acids that binds to the androgen receptor at the hair follicle and blocks DHT locally, without touching hormones elsewhere in the body.
That was the beginning. Since then, we've built a team that includes multiple world-class PhD chemists, including the co-inventor of the original ARB patent, who is now on staff and, in my opinion, one of the best formulation chemists alive.
Here's what most companies don't understand. The active ingredients are only part of what makes a topical work. The solvent system, the delivery vehicle, is just as important. The base fluids and solvents are what keep the actives stable, soluble, and able to penetrate the epidermis to reach the follicle.
We own every part of that stack, from the ingredients, to the chemistry, to the manufacturing. That's what it means when we say we own the science.
