The Truth About Hair Shedding

Shedding freaks people out. Let's put it in perspective.

Losing 90 to 100 hairs a day is completely normal. That's just the hair growth cycle doing its job. Old hairs falling out to make room for new ones. Shedding, by itself, is not the problem.

The real question isn't how much hair you're losing. It's what's growing back. If you have a healthy hair follicle, the new hair that replaces the old one will be just as thick and strong. Thinning hair happens when the follicle is weakened and the replacement hair comes in a little thinner each cycle. Do that enough times, and you get visible hair loss.

So don't fixate on the hair in your drain. Focus on the health of the follicle. Take care of it, and the hair will take care of itself.
