Common DHT Blocker Misconceptions

There's a massive misconception around DHT blockers like finasteride and dutasteride, and it's actively hurting people who could benefit from them.

A lot of that misinformation comes from supplement companies using fear tactics to sell "all-natural" alternatives. They lean heavily on scary stories about finasteride side effects because it helps them move product. The reality is very different.

The largest recent study, a huge UK trial, found that side effects from finasteride were only 1.7% higher than placebo. That's one or two people out of a hundred, and in most of those cases the side effects resolved within one to three years.

Meanwhile, DHT blockers can be genuinely life-changing for people dealing with aggressive hair loss. We've seen excellent results from finasteride, and even better results from dutasteride, which blocks both type 1 and type 2 of the enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT.

The bottom line. The perceived risk of DHT blockers is far greater than the actual risk. If you've been avoiding them because of what you've read online, it's worth having a real conversation with a doctor.
